The way back home by Oliver Jeffers

Our main focus this week was DT.

We researched, designed, made and evaluated model aeroplanes.

Here are some of our fantastic models!

What would you make a model out of?

The way back home by Oliver Jeffers

We retold the beginning of the story 'The way back home' adding in our own actions.

Lillea acted out how to board a plane with her sister.

Look at our amazing planes! There were so many different designs.

Last week, we made Jars of Happiness. Have a look below to see some of the ones we made! We talked about some of the things that make us happy during a Google Meet.

Some of the things that made us happy were:

  • playing games with my family

  • playing with my sister

  • Mummy calling me from work

  • jumping in the puddles outside

  • eating chocolate cake

What makes you happy?

WB 11.01.21

This week we have;

  • had daily Google Meets and we even had a go at a live spelling test,

  • continued to work on our story 'The owl who was afraid of the dark' and wrote own chapter,

  • learnt a range of methods for addition and subtraction playing a game of Mathopoly to apply our skills,

  • created a piece of artwork all about the four seasons,

  • started a happiness jar which we have added to each day,

  • and had a TTRS battle with 3CD - which we WON!

Our topic focus this week has been science and in particular weather. We created weather diaries, went outside and experienced the weather (jumping in big puddles and getting very wet!) and made our own weather reports.

It was really nice to see so many of you have a go at the challenge we set on Monday and create a piece of artwork about the four seasons. It was fantastic that you each took your own creative approach and produced some amazing work that we shared in Thursday's Google Meet.

WB 04.01.21

2HB have worked really hard this week. We have been learning to add and subtract a one and two digit numbers, add -s and -es to words to make them plural and answer questions about our story 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark'.

This week, our topic focus was Geography.

We created our own maps, found out about different countries around the world and even made our own models.

We also learnt life skills such as sewing and exploring the world around us.
